As termites will likely never be seen, or show you any signs they’re there, you will likely never see them until it’s too late. The only way you can be sure your home is free from termites is to book in a termite inspection.

At Mister Mozzie we have the expertise and equipment to thoroughly inspect your home to Australian Standards 4349.3-2010. So what’s involved in a termite inspection?

We inspect:

• Your homes exterior: This includes the exterior walls, window frames, timber fencing, retaining walls and trees within 30m of your building.
• Your homes interior: This includes all timber trims, architraves, skirting, doors and door jambs as well as any sign within the gyprock. Within the interior is where we mostly use our thermal imaging, moisture meter and Termatrac.
• Under your home: For those houses with subfloor areas, we get in underneath to check the joists, bearers, stumps, floor boards and any other timber. The underfloor space is critical to check as it’s usually dark, can be damp and there can often be plenty of soil for termites to enter from inconspicuously.
• The ceiling cavity: We check the entire roof void including battens, beams, rafters.

The inspection in these areas detects and identifies:

• If any active termites can be found
• Any evidence of previous infestations and treatments carried out on the property
• Any conducive conditions such as timber in contact with the ground
• Any areas where termites may gain concealed entry
• Any moisture, ventilation or drainage issues around the property
• Any evidence of other timber pests, such as wood rot (fungal decay) and borers

The process takes 1-2 hours.

Once completed we will send the completed termite inspection report on the same day. If we do find termites when on site, we will advise you to schedule a comprehensive termite treatment to get them out of your home.
